well the beast from the east gave us a good kicking here on the east coast. With more snow predicted for Easter I daren't think when I will get on to the allotment.  Last year we grew these massive pumpkins and this year we hope to grow them even bigger! I am home educating my 5 year old and this is the perfect opportunity for us to learn more about plants and growing :-) Making the difficult decision to home educate has really been tough. No one wants to see their child struggle in a school environment. However, my little girl was being excluded and restrained and no parent could ever sit and watch that happen. She is now much happier and calmer and has done more learning with me in two months than she did in 8 months at school

Life in Skeggy- vegas

So many people associate Skegness with their childhood. Idyllic days viewed through the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia. Chips by the sea side and ice creams whilst walking on the sandy, bracing sea front. However, for those of us who live and work here, as in all seaside resorts, reality is very different. We are, as a town, mostly reliant on tourists coming and spending their hard earned dosh here. As times get harder and people keep a tighter hand on their purses and wallets, folk in seaside towns have to find new and more innovative ways of parting people from their cash.
